The University of Chicago Hospitals
The University of Chicago Medical Center is conveniently located on the South Side of Chicago near the Museum of Science and Industry. Inpatient care for adults is provided at the Bernard Mitchell Hospital. Opened in 1983, the hospital is comprised of 824 beds and has the most technically advanced equipment available to help provide expert medical and surgical treatment. Inpatient care for children is provided at the University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital.
Outpatient care for adults and specialty care for children is provided at The Duchossois Center for Advanced Medicine, which opened in 1996. This 525,000 square-foot facility brings together virtually all of the adult medical and surgical specialties required to provide convenient diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patients who do not require hospitalization.
